At Greenwood GOLF, we believe that fostering the next generation of golfers is essential to growing the game and building an inclusive community. That’s why we are proud to celebrate the donation made to the North Mecklenburg High School (North Meck) Golf Team. As part of our commitment to nurturing young talent, we donated a portion of the proceeds from the 4th Annual Juneteenth Golf Classic to help the students at North Meck thrive in the sport of golf.
Empowering the Youth Through Golf
Golf is more than a game—it teaches discipline, focus, patience, and teamwork. By supporting North Meck's golf team, we aim to ensure that these young athletes have every opportunity to experience the benefits of the sport while developing their skills. North Meck's Golf Coach, Jerry Smith, explained that the team needs support for the following items:
Equipment and Resources: From clubs to bags and accessories, the team needs the tools they need to practice and perform at their best.
Course Access and Fees: Ensuring that students can participate in competitions and training sessions at various courses.
Why This Matters
Our support of the North Mecklenburg High School Golf Team is a reflection of our commitment to not only promoting diversity in golf but also investing in the future of the sport. By supporting these students, we’re helping to open doors to a game that has traditionally lacked access for underrepresented communities.
